**Acclaim for the novels of J.R. RAIN**
"Gripping, adventurous, and romantic—J.R. Rain's THE LOST ARK is a breakneck thriller that traces the thread of history from Biblical stories to current-day headlines. Be prepared to lose sleep!"
—James Rollins, international bestselling author of ALTAR OF EDEN and THE DOOMSDAY KEY
"I enjoyed MOON DANCE immensely. The protagonist, Samantha Moon, is a female vampire with a husband and children. Those predate her condition; six years ago she was attacked by a vampire and rendered into one. Now she's trying to carry on with family and private eye business, and she's a feisty, skilled person, so is doing mostly okay. It is not a horror story; she buys animal blood to eat and doesn't generally prey on humans. But her husband has an increasing problem with her coldness—not of spirit, but of body. 'You sicken me and scare the hell out of me,' he tells her. 'And when I touch you it's all I can do to not gag.' She replies, 'Words every wife wants to hear.' I love this! She really doesn't deserve to be frozen out of her marriage, yet his attitude is understandable. In the course of the novel she solves the mystery she is tackling for a client, and finds a new romantic interest. What makes it special are her character and nature. I sure wouldn't have kicked her out of bed. I recommend it as light reading, odd as that may sound."
—Piers Anthony, New York Times bestselling author of A SPELL FOR CHAMELEON and ON A PALE HORSE
"MOON DANCE is absolutely brilliant!"
—Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, author of UNDERSTANDING THE PLANETARY MYTHS
"MOON DANCE is a must read. If you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, be prepared to love J. R. Rain's Samantha Moon, vampire private investigator."
—Eve Paludan, author of LETTERS FROM DAVID
"Impossible to put down. J.R. Rain's MOON DANCE is a fabulous urban fantasy."
—April Vine, author of THE MIDNIGHT ROSE
"DARK HORSE is one of the best books I've read in a long time! A great classic detective story with a modern twist. Unique and interesting characters (I think I'm half in love with Jim Knighthorse now!), a great plot that kept me guessing until the end, and some of the funniest lines I've read anywhere. Rain does an amazing job of blending suspense, mystery and humor in this fantastic debut novel destined for the keeper shelf."
—Gemma Halliday, award winning author of SPYING IN HIGH HEELS
"I totally loved THE BODY DEPARTED. As someone who communicates with those who are either earthbound or have crossed over—your descriptions and interpretations of the dialogue and circumstances could not have been written more accurately. My favorite scene is the one of Jesus stepping down from the cross and then the passionate and compassionate way it was treated as he went back to the cross. I will relive that for a long time to come. You're a wonderfully descriptive writer who paints a very creative, visionary canvass based in a paranormal pallet that only a few experience and many can enjoy. Thank you for your talent."
—Julie Belmont, author of THE PATH TO PERSONAL SUCCESS AND FREEDOM

I enjoyed this book. It was fun, a light read as some have said, good pace throughout. However, I really wish these 'new' authors would find someone to proofread the book before they sell it here. NOTHING aggravates me more then reading along at a good pace only to slam into a wall when I find a word that is misspelled, or is used inappropriately.Examples: desert instead of dessert, prescribe instead of subscribe, you're/your, alternate/alternative, high pitch/high pitched, I COULD CARE LESS, 'bolts of lightening', schnauzer/schnoz, 'wreaked of medicine', heals/heels, than/then.
Please. If you ever want to sell more books to me, know what you're talking about. Unless I find one free, or find assurance that his books have been gone over, I won't buy another one knowing I might encounter this.

The Lost Ark edition by JR Rain Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I do like J.R. Rain stories and this one was also enjoyable, kept me coming back to finish it but not a nail biter that you can't put down. Just enjoyable recreation time, or filling in when at appointments and waiting to be seen, but still a very fun read for folks that like things with a bit of an archeology or religious involvement, lots of action, and a nice upbeat ending. Good beginning that grabs your attention and holds it. Not a reference for historical or for archeology accuracy, just enjoy it for what it is, a fun story. Doubt some of the mountain climbing facts are that accurate either, but someone from the flat lands like me (South Florida), again this was just a fun read. If I were to be interested in mountain climbing this would not be my resource.
J.R. Rain never disappoints. I first discovered this very talented author through his vampire series. With "The Lost Ark" Rain shows his fans that he can write a story that is not only interesting but a page turner. Well written and plotted story that brings a new perspective regarding Noah's Ark.
I just finished reading "The Lost Ark", "Judas Silver", "Lost Eden", and "The Secret of the Sphinx" which were all great and exciting. The Lost Ark was riveting, you were rooting for Sam and Faye to survive while searching for her father and the lost ark. An excellent adventure story that I truly hope to see in a movie someday. Judas Silver gives a terrific spin to what became of the 30 silver coins given to Judas when he betrayed Jesus. You have to read it to see what happens. Lost Eden is another riveting adventure about the search for the Garden of Eden and the adventures that take place. And last, but not least, is The Secret of the Sphinx, written when Mr. Rain was 17 years old. It was an excellent adventure story about a boy and his uncle searching for the record's room. J. R. Rain has a skill for writing from his youth to today. He can tell a story with an excellent sense of humor and I enjoy reading his books. Check him out and see for yourself!
I have personally been in the Land of Noah and have been mesmerized by the beauty and mystery of Mount Ararat. My adventure was calm and rather spiritual. J. R. Rain’s The Lost Ark is far from calm. It is a thrill ride from the first few pages! And spiritual..... while that interpretation will be left up to the reader.
A Bible college professor has gone missing while on a search for Noah’s Ark atop of Mount Ararat. His beautiful daughter hires a bar owner and ex-National Geographic photojournalist Sam Ward to find him. Sam knows personally the tremendously high cost of trying to unlock the secrets of this mountain. Is Mount Ararat holding the greatest archaeological discovery of all time? Or, is there something more sinister hiding in the clefts of this massive rock?
In the “Acclaim” section in the front of the book, James Rollins, author of The Devil Colony, said that The Lost Ark was “Gripping, adventurous and romantic.” It is just that! It is quite a thrill ride that reads like a Indiana Jones story. I read it in two settings. Beware, it has language that might be rather offensive to some readers. All-in-all it is a very good thriller!
I picked this book up reluctantly at first because I thought it might turn out to be preachy however, its anything but. J.R. Rain weaves a tapestry of interesting, believable characters with a dynamite plot. You will root for the heroes, want to cry a bit in the ending chapters. This book makes you wonder, what if the ark really was found in this day in age. What would society believe as a whole after a find like that was authenticated? The Lost Ark has a lot of action for those of us that like that genre and plenty of mystery. For a special deal of .99 cents as of July 2013, you can't go wrong. J.R. Rain writes real good. I have many books that he has written and he's never let me down yet.
J.R. Rain had a good idea. Let's take an Indiana Jones-esque character and have him accidentally find Noah's Ark. We'll throw in a gorgeous damsel in distress, but let's replace the Nazis with generic middle Eastern bad guys. Sounds like fun on the surface, but unfortunately, J.R. doesn't do such a good job with the execution.
"Meh." is the best review I can give this book. And, having read several of the cheap-to-free books available through 's , I'm left with this question Doesn't any one proofread any more?
I'm no grammar or spelling wizard, but it doesn't take much more than an eighth grade education to count the grammatical and spelling errors that are littered throughout "The Lost Ark." I might have bumped this up to 3 Stars if they had taken the time to fix all of these mistakes.
